Rawalpindi, Pakistan – The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan marked the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with renewed resolve to eliminate the scourge of drugs from society. The central ceremony took place at ANF Headquarters, Rawalpindi, in the presence of high-level international and national dignitaries.

Prominent attendees included the Country Representative of UNODC, the Director of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL-P), and Drug Liaison Officers (DLOs) from 37 accredited countries. Simultaneous commemorative events were organized at ANF Regional Directorates across Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan.

A wreath-laying ceremony at ANF’s Yadgar-e-Shuhada stood as the emotional centerpiece of the event, where participants paid tribute to ANF martyrs who laid down their lives in the fight against narcotics. This solemn moment was followed by impactful keynote addresses by international and national partners, highlighting shared commitments and cooperative strategies.

A group photograph capturing solidarity among global stakeholders served as a symbol of unity and collective purpose for a Drug-Free Pakistan.

Pakistan continues to lead the regional fight against drug trafficking through a combination of strong domestic enforcement and close international collaboration with partners such as UNODC, INL-P, DEA, NCA, and drug enforcement agencies of friendly countries. The country remains steadfast in transforming the vision of a Drug-Free World into a practical reality.
