ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, met with a high-level South Asian Games delegation and Arif Saeed, President of the Pakistan Olympic Association and South Asia Olympic Council, at the Prime Minister's Office.
During the meeting, officials confirmed that Pakistan will officially host the 14th South Asian Games from April 3 to April 11, 2027.
Massive Multi-Sport Event Spread Across Three Cities
The upcoming 14th South Asian Games will feature 346 medal events across 28 different sports, bringing approximately 3,200 international athletes to the host nation.
To accommodate the wide array of sports and international delegations, competitions will be hosted across three major cities: Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar.

Speaking at the occasion, Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan emphasized that the government is taking comprehensive measures to promote sports and empower youth. He noted that the South Asian Games offer an unprecedented platform for young regional athletes to showcase their talent on an international stage while fostering regional peace and cooperation.
President Arif Saeed reiterated the Pakistan Olympic Association's commitment to advancing local talent, stating that providing pathways for young athletes to excel regionally and internationally remains a top national priority.
