DOHA — The Ministry of Interior (MOI) in Qatar has issued an urgent advisory regarding public safety protocols for social events, mandating that all gatherings be held strictly within designated indoor facilities. The directive, aimed at protecting lives and property, comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to national security and stability.

According to the official press release, the Ministry urges all citizens and residents to comply with specific precautionary measures when organizing social events. These regulations apply to all public and private gatherings, including weddings and condolence gatherings, under the current circumstances.
Mandatory Indoor Venues
A key highlight of the new directive is the restriction on venue types. The Ministry emphasizes that social events must be held only in indoor halls and enclosed venues.
To mitigate potential risks to public safety, the following are now prohibited for social gatherings:
Outdoor tents
Open public areas
Non-enclosed temporary structures
Collective Responsibility and Compliance
The Ministry of Interior stressed the importance of adhering to instructions issued by competent authorities. By refraining from practices that may expose the community to danger, organizers fulfill a collective responsibility to enhance societal security.
The Ministry expressed its appreciation for the public's cooperation, noting that high levels of community awareness are essential for maintaining the stability of society. Authorities have signaled that strict monitoring will be in place to ensure these safety standards are upheld across the country.
