Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan, Abdul Hameed today inaugurated Pakistan Pavilion at Japan IT Week Spring 2026 in Tokyo.
Pakistan is participating with its largest delegation to date, featuring 12 IT companies showcasing solutions in software development, cloud services, cybersecurity, fintech, and business systems.
The Pavilion has been organised with support from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and the Pakistan Software Export Board, in collaboration with JICA, to strengthen Pakistan’s IT presence in the Japanese market.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ambassador Abdul Hameed said Pakistan’s IT sector is steadily expanding, with companies gaining experience in international markets. He said the participation is aimed at building long-term partnerships with Japanese businesses.
Referring to Japan’s Society 5.0 initiative, the Ambassador said Pakistani companies can contribute to improving business processes, system development, and operational efficiency, addressing challenges such as labour shortages and an ageing population.
He emphasized that engagement with Japan requires consistency and reliability and that collaboration should start with small, clearly defined projects to build mutual confidence.
Ambassador Abdul Hameed also noted the strong foundation of trust between Pakistan and Japan, citing decades of successful operations by Japanese companies in Pakistan. He said the same approach can be extended to the technology sector.
The Pakistan Mission in Tokyo is facilitating connections between Pakistani and Japanese companies to ensure discussions lead to practical outcomes.
Pakistan’s participation in Japan IT Week 2026 is part of ongoing efforts to expand exports, enter new markets, and establish sustainable business partnerships with Japan.
