ISLAMABAD – Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate and Ambassador to the ISC, served as the Chief Guest at the annual “Taste the World Charity Event 2026” on Sunday. The high-profile gathering, organized by the Islamabad Foreign Women’s Association (IFWA), brought together diplomatic missions and partner organizations to raise vital funds for Pakistan's most vulnerable populations.
Addressing a distinguished audience of diplomats and civil society leaders, Khar emphasized the unifying power of the event. “Food is the language of diplomacy that needs no translation,” she remarked, highlighting how the initiative bridges cultural divides for a greater humanitarian purpose.
A Legacy of Humanitarian Solidarity
The event was held in collaboration with the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA) and the Serena Hotel Islamabad. Khar praised the collective commitment of the stakeholders, noting that such platforms are essential for supporting underprivileged women and children.
Since its inception in 1995, IFWA has played a pivotal role in mobilizing resources for social causes. Khar acknowledged the organization’s long-standing history of fostering stronger ties between Pakistan and the international community through compassion and shared goals.
Strengthening Social Welfare Through Partnerships
During her keynote, Khar linked the success of community events to national progress. She underscored Pakistan’s dedication to inclusive development, specifically citing the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) as a cornerstone of the country's financial safety net for deserving families.
"When governments, civil society, and the diplomatic community come together, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible," Khar stated.
The Taste the World Charity Event remains a flagship initiative for IFWA. It serves a dual purpose: celebrating global cultural diversity and funding projects focused on women’s empowerment, education, and social welfare across the country.
