PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums, Malik Adil Iqbal, received a detailed briefing on ongoing and proposed projects of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), officials said.
The briefing was held at the KPCTA headquarters, where Director General Shahid Khan Mohmand presented an overview of the authority’s performance, tourism promotion initiatives, and future development plans.
Officials highlighted progress on development projects, public-private partnership initiatives, improvements in tourism infrastructure, and the role of Tourism Police in facilitating visitors. The meeting also reviewed the performance of Tourist Facilitation Centres established at key destinations and the Tourism Helpline (1422), which provides guidance, assistance, and complaint-resolution services for tourists.
Mohmand said the authority was working on multiple projects aimed at boosting tourism, attracting investment, and improving visitor services across the province. He noted that Tourism Police and facilitation centres play a key role in providing information, emergency assistance, and other essential support to tourists.
Speaking during the meeting, Malik Adil Iqbal praised the authority’s efforts to promote tourism and enhance visitor experiences. He directed officials to further improve the quality of facilities at tourist destinations and create new investment opportunities through greater collaboration between the public and private sectors.
He said the provincial government, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, was committed to developing tourism as a strong economic sector and would utilize all available resources to achieve that objective.
The special assistant also stressed the importance of ensuring the timely completion of ongoing tourism projects and making tourist-friendly initiatives more effective across the province.
