ISLAMABAD — The Embassy of the Republic of Korea officially hosted the 2026 K-WAVE Festa on Saturday, May 2, at the Serena Hotel Islamabad. The high-energy event transformed the SBC Lawn into a cultural hub, drawing students, influencers, and enthusiasts to celebrate the global phenomenon of Korean creativity.
Innovation and Industry: All About Korea
The festival’s "All About Korea" segment showcased the synergy between innovation and tradition. Global giants and developmental partners, including Samsung, Lotte Kolson, KOICA, KOPIA, and HRD Korea, hosted promotional booths.
Visitors engaged with immersive displays highlighting Korea’s leadership in technology and international development. These interactive showcases provided a deep dive into the country's economic and cultural outreach efforts within Pakistan.
Immersive Heritage and K-Beauty Trends
The King Sejong Institute anchored the cultural program, offering attendees a hands-on connection to Korean heritage. Highlights of the cultural exchange included:
Traditional Crafts: DIY Najeon (mother-of-pearl) workshops.
Traditional Attire: Hanbok fitting sessions for the public.
Language: Introductory Korean language classes for aspiring learners.
The K-Beauty sector saw massive engagement, particularly during an exclusive Master Class for influencers. The session featured professional color analysis and K-idol makeup styling, which was broadcast live to thousands via Instagram and YouTube.
The Main Stage: K-Pop National Preliminaries
The evening reached its peak with the K-POP Festival – National Preliminary Round. Competitors from across the country battled in vocal and dance categories, showcasing the immense local talent inspired by Hallyu.
