Air China inaugurates its first direct flight service linking Beijing with Brisbane, Australia, marking a significant enhancement in air travel between the two nations. This new non-stop connection, Flight CA 795, drastically reduces travel time and is set to boost tourism and economic ties. The launch of these dedicated Beijing Brisbane flights underscores Air China's expanding global network.
The inaugural flight departs Beijing at 2:30 AM local time, arriving in Brisbane, Queensland, approximately 11 hours later at 3:10 PM local time. Air China will operate this route four times weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, providing consistent access for travelers.
This new service positions Brisbane as Air China's third Australian destination, complementing existing routes to Sydney and Melbourne. Previously, journeys from Beijing to Queensland required a transfer, extending travel time to around 12 hours and 30 minutes.
Strengthening Sino-Australian Connections with Beijing Brisbane Flights
The introduction of this direct link is a strategic move in Air China's global expansion, according to Hou Xulun, deputy head of Air China. He emphasizes that the route will significantly enhance bilateral trade, business cooperation, and tourism between China and Australia.
“The establishment of this new route is part of Air China’s global expansion of its route network and improvement of links between China and Australia,” states Hou Xulun. “The launch of the non-stop route between Beijing and Brisbane will provide a convenient transport link that will enhance bilateral trade, business cooperation and tourism.”
The carrier now manages more than 40 weekly passenger flights connecting China and Australia, reflecting growing demand.
Boosting Tourism and Economic Exchange
The rapid increase in direct flights between China and Australia is largely supported by the landmark Australia-China open air services agreement, signed just a year ago. Australian Ambassador to China, Jan Adams, highlights this agreement as crucial for current growth.
Brisbane, known as a gateway to Queensland's major tourism attractions like the Gold Coast and the iconic Great Barrier Reef, is a prime destination for international visitors. Official figures reveal a consistent double-digit growth in Chinese tourists visiting Australia. In 2016 alone, the two-way tourist flow between the countries reached a remarkable 2 million trips.
