Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar hosted the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, in Islamabad today to advance bilateral cooperation. Welcoming the Egyptian delegation, Senator Dar emphasized that Pakistan’s relationship with Egypt is built on a foundation of shared history, common faith, and a unified stance on global issues.
The meeting serves as a critical follow-up to the high-level discussions held in Riyadh on March 19, 2026. Both leaders expressed immense satisfaction with the positive momentum in diplomatic relations since the Egyptian Foreign Minister’s previous visit in November 2025.

Focus on Economic Growth and Health Collaboration
A primary objective of the meeting was the expansion of bilateral trade and investment. To achieve this, the ministers agreed to:
Activate the Joint Ministerial Commission to streamline economic policies.
Foster stronger Business-to-Business (B2B) linkages between the two nations.
Continue the successful partnership in the health sector, specifically Egypt’s support in Pakistan's fight against Hepatitis C.
Beyond commerce, both sides lauded the current trajectory of defense and security cooperation, pledging to enhance institutional mechanisms through joint training exchanges.
Regional Stability and Support for Palestine
The discussions took a serious turn toward the evolving situation in the Middle East. Both ministers called for immediate restraint and de-escalation, advocating for the resolution of regional disputes through diplomacy.
Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestine, strongly condemning the ongoing aggression by Israeli forces in Gaza and the West Bank. He specifically lauded Egypt’s pivotal role in facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza and supporting Pakistan’s own relief efforts in the region.
The visit concludes with a shared commitment to maintain close coordination at international platforms such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
