Pakistan has successfully test-fired an extended version of its Fatah-4 Ground-Launched Cruise Missile, the military said, in the latest test of the country’s indigenous missile program.
The weapon system features advanced avionics and navigation technology and is designed to engage targets at extended ranges with high precision, according to the military.
The test also assessed technical parameters of several subsystems intended to improve the missile’s accuracy and survivability.
Senior Pakistan Army officers, along with scientists and engineers involved in the development programme, witnessed the launch.
Pakistan’s president, prime minister, army chief and chief of defence forces, along with the services chiefs, congratulated the teams involved and praised their technical expertise and efforts following the successful test.
The announcement comes as Pakistan continues to develop and test domestically produced missile and defence systems as part of efforts to strengthen its military capabilities.
