Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, held a significant meeting with Pakistan’s Defence Secretary, Lt. General (R) Muhammad Ali HI(M), to explore avenues for enhanced bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, both dignitaries reviewed the current state of Pakistan-Ethiopia relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen ties in key sectors. Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker underscored the importance of the recent reforms in Ethiopia led by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali, which have opened new opportunities for international partnerships.

He particularly noted the positive impact of two major developments—the inauguration of the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and the launch of Ethiopian Airlines operations in Karachi—which have injected renewed momentum into bilateral relations.

Defense Secretary Lt. Gen. (R) Muhammad Ali commended Ethiopia’s transformative economic policies and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to expand engagement with African nations, especially Ethiopia. He assured full support for initiatives aimed at deepening diplomatic, economic, and defense cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
