Lahore: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore Zone executed a major law enforcement operation today in the Gulberg area, raiding three illegal call centers involved in defrauding foreign nationals. Authorities arrested 59 suspects, including 52 men and 7 women, dismantling a sophisticated network engaged in international financial fraud and cybercrime.
High-Tech Evidence and Operational Equipment Confiscated
During the coordinated raids, NCCIA officials confiscated a vast array of digital equipment used to execute complex online scams.
The recovered assets from the three locations include:
61 Laptops
21 Desktop Computer Systems
52 Mobile Phones
Fraudulent Tactics and Hacking Schemes Uncovered
According to the official NCCIA spokesperson, the criminal enterprise relied on multiple deception techniques targeting victims abroad. The gang lured foreign citizens under the guise of technical support by offering fake mobile upgrades and discounted communication packages.
Furthermore, the suspects breached cybersecurity systems by hacking data from fake-app-registered restaurants. They intercepted weekly merchant payments and routed the stolen funds directly into their own accounts using crypto trading and online money transfer applications.
Safeguarding Digital Reputation and Continuing Crackdown
An NCCIA spokesperson stated that the illicit operations severely damaged Pakistan's digital reputation on the international stage.
Director General of the NCCIA reaffirmed the agency's resolve to eliminate cyber syndicates, stating that relentless crackdowns against international financial fraudsters will continue across the country to protect the nation's cyberspace and uphold global enforcement standards.
