ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially named a 23-member national football squad for the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 in Indonesia. Head coach Nolberto Solano will guide the Shaheens as they make their debut in the inaugural tournament running from September 24 to October 5 across host venues in Jakarta and Bandung.
Pakistan has been drawn into Division 1 — Group B alongside Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. This maiden participation offers the national team a crucial platform to build international experience against top Asian opponents.
Key Overseas Stars Boost Squad Depth
The 23-player roster features a strategic mix of experienced overseas professionals and emerging domestic talent. Key overseas additions include defender Easah Suliman, forward Abdul Samad Arshad, midfielder Rahis Nabi, and veteran goalkeeper Yousuf Butt.
Team captain Abdullah Iqbal anchors the defense alongside Mamoon Khan and Mohd Fazal. Forward Kaleemullah also returns to the squad to provide veteran leadership in attack.
