The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) has announced a two-hour suspension of flight operations at Islamabad International Airport, now scheduled for March 17. This temporary halt for Islamabad airport flights will occur from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT).
This update follows the PAA's retraction of an earlier advisory concerning a brief operational pause originally set for March 16. The authority clarified that the previous Notice to Airmen (Notam) was cancelled.
Revised Schedule for Air Operations
The latest Notam confirms that arrival and departure procedures at Islamabad International Airport will be halted on March 17. This revised timing maintains the 08:30 AM to 10:30 AM PKT window.
The PAA cites "operational reasons" for this temporary restriction.
Advisory for Travelers and Airspace Restrictions
Due to these operational considerations, the authority advises incoming aircraft to carry extra holding fuel to account for potential delays. This measure aims to manage any impact on arriving flights.
Specific air traffic service (ATS) route segments within the Lahore Flight Information Region (FIR) will be unavailable from ground level up to flight level 210 during this two-hour period.
