In a historic and pioneering initiative, the Government of Pakistan has officially declared October 7th as the Day of Solidarity with Palestine, a decision widely praised by the international community and particularly by H.E. Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, the Honorable Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan.

In his message to the media, Ambassador Moghadam commended Pakistan’s commendable step, noting its significance in the global effort to highlight the plight of the Palestinian people. “This initiative could serve as a model for all countries, especially Muslim nations, to establish creative paradigms to commemorate the memory of the tens of thousands of innocent civilian martyrs in Gaza and Lebanon, including women and children,” he stated.

Ambassador Moghadam emphasized the importance of remembering the victims of what he described as genocide committed by the Israeli regime. The Day of Solidarity with Palestine will, according to the ambassador, shine as a “symbol of freedom, resistance against occupation, and the resilience and self-determination of the Palestinian nation.” He further added that this day represents defiance against oppression and tyranny on the global calendar.

Highlighting the potential global impact, Ambassador Moghadam expressed hope that Pakistan’s initiative will inspire other nations to engage in practical condemnation of what he called the Zionist regime’s crimes against humanity. He urged countries, especially those who have not yet taken a strong stand, to adopt similar actions in support of Palestine.

“Undoubtedly, this initiative is the demand of all lovers of the Palestinian cause worldwide. We must welcome and support this great move by recognizing October 7th as the Day of Solidarity with Palestine and commemorating it annually,” the Iranian envoy concluded.
