In a significant diplomatic meeting held today in Islamabad, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, engaged in discussions with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Asif Ali Zardari. The meeting focused on strengthening economic cooperation and fostering closer ties between the two neighboring nations.
President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the importance of promoting barter trade and economic relations for the mutual benefit of Iran and Pakistan. Acknowledging the vast potential for increased economic collaboration across various sectors, President Zardari expressed his determination to further enhance the relationship between the two brotherly countries. He underscored the importance of working together to address common challenges faced by both nations.
During the meeting, Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam extended congratulations to President Asif Ali Zardari on his appointment as President of Pakistan. He highlighted the deep-rooted historical, religious, and cultural ties between Iran and Pakistan, emphasizing the need to elevate trade volume and banking cooperation. Ambassador Moghaddam also stressed the importance of expanding air and business links between the two nations to facilitate greater economic exchange.
Furthermore, Ambassador Moghaddam proposed leveraging the Chabahar-Zahedan railway to enhance trade between Pakistan and Central Asia, Europe, and Turkey. He expressed optimism that under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, the relations between Iran and Pakistan would witness significant progress.
In a gesture of goodwill, Ambassador Moghaddam conveyed a congratulatory message to President Asif Ali Zardari on behalf of the Iranian President, His Excellency Syed Ebrahim Raisi.
