Islamabad: Senior leadership from Binance, including Global CEO Richard Teng, visited Islamabad for high-level engagements with Pakistan’s political and military leadership, marking a significant step in the country’s efforts to regulate and develop its digital asset ecosystem.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif along with the Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, reflecting strong institutional support for advancing innovation in the digital economy.

Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) and Minister Bilal Bin Saqib briefed participants on the authority’s mandate and progress to date, highlighting ongoing efforts to build a transparent, secure, and future-ready regulatory framework for digital assets. The discussions focused on fostering innovation while ensuring consumer protection, financial stability, and compliance with international standards.

The visit underscores Pakistan’s clear intent to collaborate with global industry leaders such as Binance to position itself as a responsible and competitive player in the global digital assets landscape.
