Lahore: The Punjab government has issued the Kite Flying Ordinance 2025 and officially announced that Basant will be celebrated in Lahore as well as across the entire province. Under the new ordinance, kite flying will only be allowed at designated locations and during specific hours set by the government.
The ordinance also includes restrictions on underage participation, stating that individuals under 18 years of age will not be allowed to fly kites. Additionally, strict bans have been enforced on the use of chemical-coated or metallic string, along with tougher penalties and legal action for any violations.
According to officials, public safety will remain the top priority during the Basant festival, and relevant authorities have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the law.
