ISLAMABAD – In a significant move to bolster regional trade, Shehryar Taj, Secretary of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), has announced full cooperation for the upcoming 4th Made in Pakistan Exhibition and Business Conference. The event is scheduled to take place in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from September 22 to 26, 2026.
The commitment followed a high-level meeting between Secretary Taj and Muhammad Khurshid Barlas, Founder Chairman of the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry (PAEI). During the session, both officials emphasized the strategic necessity of strengthening economic bridges between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
A Global Stage at Bashundhara ICCB
The five-day exhibition will be hosted at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka. According to Khurshid Barlas, the primary objective is to introduce a diverse range of high-quality Pakistani products to the international market, specifically targeting the growing demand in Bangladesh.
"Pakistani products are in high demand and remain very popular in Bangladesh," Secretary Taj noted. "We hope this exhibition serves as an effective platform to further solidify our trade cooperation."
Key Sectors on Display
The 2026 exhibition will feature a comprehensive array of industries, showcasing Pakistan’s manufacturing and service capabilities. Participating sectors include:
Manufacturing: Textiles, electrical appliances, machinery, and equipment.
Lifestyle & Luxury: Fashion and fabrics, footwear, gems and jewelry, and furniture.
Construction & Chemicals: Marble, glass, paint, varnish, and HVACR.
Services: Tourism, hospitality, and handicraft products.
Driving Economic Growth Through Diplomacy
Secretary Shehryar Taj lauded the PAEI’s proactive role in promoting the national economy through international events. By providing a dedicated space for Pakistani companies to engage with Bangladeshi buyers, the exhibition aims to address the critical need for increased trade relations in the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Barlas presented an official invitation to the TDAP Secretary, marking a formal partnership to ensure the success of the Dhaka summit.
