Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, has paid a farewell call on UN General Assembly President Dr Khalilur Rahman in New York.
During the meeting, Ahmad reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for the United Nations and constructive engagement with the organisation’s work during the 81st General Assembly session, according to Pakistan’s Mission to the UN.
The two sides also discussed ongoing and upcoming multilateral processes being considered under the General Assembly.
Ahmad is expected to return to Pakistan soon to assume charge as the country’s foreign secretary.
