KARACHI, PAKISTAN - The Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) organized a seminar in collaboration with the Stimson Center at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. Inaugurated by Air Marshal (R) Masood Akhtar, the event, held from 08:30 am to 12 Noon, delved into the pressing topics of Current Affairs and Climate Change's Impact on Pakistan.   The first session, addressing contemporary issues, featured Dr. Adil Sultan as the keynote speaker, providing insights into challenges in US-Pakistan relations post-Afghanistan withdrawal. Ms. Elizabeth Threlkeld stressed the significance of enhanced strategic relations in the upcoming 2024 elections.   The second session, titled 'Climate Change and its Impact on Pakistan,' showcased Mr. Shahbaz Mehmood discussing the existential threat posed by climate change. He underscored Pakistan's vulnerability and commitment to climate action in alignment with the Paris Agreement.   Concluding the seminar, Mr. Ikram Sehgal challenged perceptions of economic failure and advocated policy rectification for positive economic growth. The event, attended by government officials, professors, the business community, think tanks, and civil society, provided valuable insights. KCFR remains committed to fostering discourse on foreign relations, geopolitics, and economic affairs, while the Stimson Center impartially addresses global threats.
