IIUI Confers Honorary Doctorate Degree on Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu
ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Politics and International Relations upon Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, during its 13th Special Convocation. Held at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad, the academic honor recognized his public service, governance reforms, and contributions to national development.

The proceedings opened with introductory remarks from Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh, Vice President (Academics) at IIUI, who welcomed delegates from both nations. Rector of IIUI Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed performed the ceremonial robing of the Maldivian President before the formal degree presentation.
The degree was formally conferred on behalf of President Asif Ali Zardari, Chancellor of IIUI, and presented jointly by the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the IIUI Rector.

IIUI leadership cited President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s extensive career spanning senior technical, policymaking, and executive leadership roles across both public and private sectors in the Maldives.
