Strengthening Bilateral Ties: Pakistan and UK Discuss Human Rights and Legal Collaboration

The Federal Minister for Law, Justice & Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, held a telephonic conversation with Hamish Falconer MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Pakistan at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in human rights, legal affairs, and mutual assistance between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

 

Both sides exchanged congratulations on their respective roles and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties in key areas, particularly in human rights protection and legal reforms.

 

The Minister reiterated Pakistan’s stance on the importance of upholding human rights as a state obligation and affirmed Pakistan’s dedication to advancing and safeguarding human rights in line with international legal frameworks.

During the call, they discussed current global and regional issues, emphasizing mutual assistance in addressing shared challenges. Federal Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and Mr. Hamish Falconer expressed optimism about further enhancing cooperation in human rights and the importance of maintaining strong relations through continued dialogue and the exchange of best practices to uphold the principles of human rights and justice.

 

Both sides expressed confidence that the continued collaboration will strengthen the relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, serving the best interests of their citizens.
