Türkiye’s satellite operator TURKSAT and China Satcom have signed an agreement to expand cooperation in space technology, including joint research, product development and commercialisation.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026), which is taking place in Antalya, Türkiye.
Selman Demirel, TURKSAT’s deputy general manager for satellite services, and Ma Haiquan, chief executive of China Satcom, signed the protocol at TURKSAT’s exhibition stand, according to information obtained by Anadolu.
The agreement builds on cooperation between the two companies that began last year with capacity-sharing arrangements. The partnership was subsequently expanded following discussions at World Space Business Week in Paris.
The latest deal extends the collaboration to hardware and software development, marking a further step in joint research and production between the two countries.
The congress is organised by the International Astronautical Federation and hosted by the Turkish Space Agency and SAHA Istanbul, under the coordination of Türkiye’s Ministry of Industry and Technology. Anadolu is serving as the event’s global communications partner.
