BANNU, PAKISTAN - Seven people were killed and three others injured after two remote-controlled explosions struck vehicles in the Marka Bera area of Bannu’s Wazir subdivision, police officials said.
Bannu District Police Officer (DPO) Yasir Afridi confirmed that seven people lost their lives and three sustained injuries in the twin blasts. Security forces and law enforcement agencies swiftly reached the scene, secured the area, collected evidence, and launched an investigation into the attacks.
In a statement, police said the explosions targeted two vehicles in the remote Phang Musa Khel area. Authorities described the incidents as a “cowardly act of terrorism” and said efforts were under way to identify and apprehend those responsible.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks.
