Pakistan Railways is launching four special train services to meet the heightened demand for travel during the upcoming Eid celebrations. These additional services aim to ensure thousands of passengers can reach their hometowns and families across the country for the holiday. The deployment of these Pakistan Railways Eid trains highlights the national carrier's commitment to facilitating public mobility during peak periods.
Expanding Connectivity for Eid Travel
The first of these dedicated services departs from Lahore on March 16, heading to Karachi with stops in Okara, Sahiwal, and Khanewal. This route addresses a key corridor for many travellers.
Following this, a second special train will commence its journey from Quetta on March 17, bound for Rawalpindi. This service includes stops at Sukkar, Rahimyar Khan, Khanewal, and Lahore, linking major provincial capitals.
On the same day, March 17, a third special train will connect Karachi directly to Peshawar. The final additional service for the Eid period departs from Karachi for Lahore on March 18, offering another crucial inter-city link.
Facilitating National Holiday Journeys
An official from Pakistan Railways emphasized that these special operations are crucial for assisting numerous individuals planning to travel for Eid festivities. The initiative helps manage the significant increase in passenger volume typically observed during such national holidays.
These seasonal services are a regular feature of Pakistan Railways' operations, particularly during significant religious holidays like Eid. They play a vital role in alleviating overcrowding on standard routes and maintaining efficient schedules between the country's main urban centers.
