International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva met with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to review the country's ongoing economic reforms.
The top IMF official praised Pakistan's rigorous implementation of structural economic adjustments, noting that consistent policies have played a critical role in preserving macroeconomic stability and restoring international market confidence.

During the high-level meeting, both leaders discussed key milestones achieved under Pakistan's economic stabilization agenda. The IMF chief highlighted that sustained reform momentum has enabled Pakistan to regain access to international financial markets and stabilize its financial indicators.
"Strong implementation has helped preserve stability, restore confidence, and regain market access," the IMF Managing Director noted following the discussion.
