NCCIA Lahore Busts Cyber Fraud Gang Targeting Citizens via POS Machines
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore has dismantled an organized cyber fraud syndicate targeting both local and foreign citizens through fraudulent digital transactions. During the intelligence-led action, law enforcement officers arrested key suspects involved in stealing money through compromised debit and credit cards.
Key Details of the Operation
Targeted Victims: Local and international credit/debit card holders
Seized Evidence: 2 Mobile Phones, 1 Laptop, and 5 POS (Point of Sale) Machines
Primary Modus Operandi: Executing fraudulent POS transactions to skim funds from citizens
Legal Status: Formal case registered; further investigation actively underway
High-Tech Fraud Strategy Uncovered
Investigative findings reveal that the criminal network operated a deceptive financial operation using illegally obtained POS machines. The suspects manipulated digital transactions to access linked bank accounts and fraudulently siphon off funds from unsuspecting cardholders.
Following technical surveillance and digital tracing, NCCIA officers raided the gang's hideout, successfully recovering the electronic devices and terminal hardware used to facilitate the scam.
Strict Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Cybercriminals
The agency confirmed that further interrogation is ongoing to identify and arrest other linked operatives within the network.
