On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Romania extended warm greetings and appreciation to the women of Pakistan, recognizing their resilience, determination, and vital contributions to society.
In a special message, Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dan Stoenescu, expressed his heartfelt admiration for Pakistani women and their remarkable role in shaping the country’s future. He noted that from the bustling streets of Karachi and Lahore to the serene valleys of northern Pakistan, women continue to inspire with their courage, resilience, and unwavering determination.
The ambassador highlighted the contributions of women across multiple sectors. “Teachers shaping young minds, doctors healing communities, entrepreneurs building brighter futures, diplomats shaping policies, and activists and journalists courageously advocating for justice—Pakistani women are the true architects of progress,” he said. He also acknowledged the vital role of mothers and daughters who quietly hold families and society together.
Stoenescu further stated that the perseverance of Pakistani women in education, sports, politics, business, and many other fields is transforming the country and lighting the path for future generations.
Reflecting on his time in Pakistan, the Romanian envoy shared that he had the privilege of meeting many remarkable women—including diplomats, entrepreneurs, teachers, artists, journalists, students, and community leaders. He said their intelligence, strength, and commitment to building a better future for their families and communities had deeply inspired him.
The ambassador emphasized that Romania strongly supports the empowerment of women and the importance of gender equality. As the world marks International Women’s Day, he said Romania stands in solidarity with women in Pakistan and around the globe.
“Let us renew our shared commitment to equality, dignity, and opportunity for every woman and girl—here in Pakistan, across South Asia, in Europe, and everywhere,” he added.
Concluding his message, he said: “To every Pakistani woman: You are seen, you are valued, and your voice matters.”
He also extended warm wishes to women everywhere on International Women’s Day.
