Islamabad, April 10, 2025: Ali Pervaiz Malik, Pakistan’s Minister for Petroleum, engaged in an important meeting with Pankaj Gupta, the Regional Director for South Asia at the World Bank, to explore opportunities for collaboration and technical assistance in Pakistan’s energy sector. The discussions primarily focused on fostering sustainable energy development, enhancing infrastructure, and tackling challenges within the oil and gas industries.

During the meeting, Minister Pervaiz underscored the government’s dedication to transforming Pakistan’s energy sector by ensuring energy security and advancing clean energy projects. He stressed the importance of international partnerships and investment to improve the country’s energy efficiency and mentioned ongoing efforts to create an integrated energy strategy.

Pankaj Gupta reiterated the World Bank’s continued support for Pakistan’s energy reforms and expressed confidence in future cooperation. He commended the government’s progress in the sector and discussed possible technical assistance programs to further enhance energy development.

Minister Pervaiz expressed gratitude towards the World Bank for its sustained support and emphasized the significance of such collaborations in achieving Pakistan’s long-term energy objectives.
