The Ambassador of #Kazakhstan to #Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, held a meeting with the President of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), Professor Dr. Ahmed Shuja, and the Director General of the Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University Islamabad, Dr. Muhammad Zia Ul Haq.
During the discussions, the parties explored prospects for further cooperation in the fields of interfaith and intercultural dialogue, as well as opportunities for expanding collaboration in education.
In particular, the University President expressed a desire to establish partnerships with Kazakhstani universities in theological, technical, and humanitarian disciplines represented at IIUI.
In turn, Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq provided insights into the ongoing work in inter-university cooperation and proposed holding a Round Table in Islamabad on the eve of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, scheduled for September 17-18, 2025, in Astana, to discuss Kazakhstan’s initiative.
For his part, Ambassador Y.Kistafin congratulated Professor A.Shuja on his appointment to such a prestigious position and expressed keen interest in further strengthening and expanding cooperation with the University, emphasizing the well-established partnership between the Embassy and IIUI.
The Ambassador welcomed the proposals from the Pakistani side and affirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to jointly implement the discussed initiatives.
