Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman, Vice Chancellor of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) inaugurated the Admission Facilitation Desk at University’s sub-campus Attock, here on Tuesday. Marking a significant step in the revitalization of the campus, newly established IT/Computer Lab and Agriculture Lab were also inaugurated at the sub-campus. The ceremony was attending by a large number of faculty members, administration staff and local community.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman said that we have fulfilled our promise to rehabilitate the Attock campus and now regular educational activities are being started here. This campus is now poised to become a vital hub for higher education in the region. Initially, the admissions are being offered in B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, BS Computer Science and B.Sc. (Hons.) Human Nutrition & Dietetics. “In a move to make higher education more accessible, a special 30% fee discount has been announced for students enrolling at the Attock campus”, he added.
Highlighting the commitment to quality education, the Vice Chancellor emphasized that modern research labs, a fully equipped library, high-speed internet, and state-of-the-art facilities will be expedited to align the campus with current academic and technological standards.
The local community expressed satisfaction with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman and university’s efforts to start educational activities at the Attock campus. They said that it would not only expand agricultural education and research but also save students from Attock and surrounding areas the financial and logistical burden of traveling to other cities for quality education.
