Turkish Embassy & Mövenpick Centaurus host Salu Alehi Wa’Alehi Calligraphy Exhibition

The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, in collaboration with Movenpick Centaurus Islamabad has organized a solo calligraphy exhibition titled Salu Alehi Wa’Alehi at the Centaurus Mall, Islamabad. The exhibition celebrates the holy month of Ramadan and showcases the beauty of Islamic art and heritage.

 

The exhibition was inaugurated by Irfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Pakistan, alongside Sardar Dr. Rashid Ilyas Khan(President Centaurus Group), Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan(CEO Centaurus Group, President IDA) and 25 ambassadors from various countries. The event highlights 35 exceptional works of the renowned calligraphy artist Wasil Shahid known for his dedication to preserving the art of Islamic calligraphy.

 

Irfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of Türkiye, appreciated the remarkable work of Wasil Shahid and also commended Mövenpick and Centaurus Mall management for their efforts in uplifting Pakistan’s image internationally.

 

In addition to the calligraphy pieces, the exhibition features significant Islamic artifacts, including a display of the Ghilaf-e-Kaaba offering visitors a profound cultural and spiritual experience.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan emphasized the importance of promoting Islamic heritage, stating, Islamic art has a rich tradition that we must celebrate and uphold. Calligraphy is an essential part of our cultural legacy and we greatly appreciate artists like Wasil Shahid for keeping this tradition alive.

 

Sardar Dr. Rashid Ilyas Khan speaking at the event said that Islam teaches brotherhood and the blessed month of Ramadan teaches us patience and unity. He also emphasized that brother countries should unite in trade and economic progress so that their citizens can prosper financially.
