In a concerning development, three judges of the Lahore High Court have received threatening letters, mirroring a similar incident at the Islamabad High Court.

The targeted judges, namely Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan, and Justice Alia Neelam, prompted immediate action from the Registrar Office of Lahore High Court.

Security measures were swiftly reinforced as Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and police officers deployed to investigate the matter. Forensic teams were called in to examine the suspicious letters, while CCTV footage from Lahore High Court was thoroughly reviewed.

Of note, the targeted judges are also members of the management committee, adding weight to the seriousness of the situation.

This alarming incident follows a similar pattern observed at the Islamabad High Court, where eight judges, including Chief Justice Amir Farooq, received suspicious letters just a day prior. The contents of these letters included threatening language and were accompanied by a powdery substance.

Authorities are actively pursuing leads, as the sender, identified only as Resham, omitted any return address on the letters, heightening concerns regarding the sender’s intentions.
