The Embassy of Thailand celebrated the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand with great enthusiasm in Islamabad. The event began with the national anthems of both Thailand and Pakistan. It was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, and media representatives.
The newly appointed Ambassador of Thailand warmly welcomed the guests on this special occasion. Prior to his posting in Pakistan, the Ambassador had an extensive diplomatic career, representing Thailand in various countries, showcasing his experience and commitment to fostering international relations.
The Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan, joined Thailand’s Ambassador-designate, Rongvudhi Virabutr, and the Heads of ASEAN Mission States in celebrating Thailand’s National Day. The occasion was marked by a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony.
In her welcome remarks, Kamolwan Sriposil, Charge d Affaires of the Thai embassy said under the leadership of Rongvudhi Birabutr, the embassy was committed to taking Pakistan-Thailand relations to the next level.
“As we celebrate more than 70 years of diplomatic relations, Thailand and Pakistan share a bond and historical ties that go back 2,000 years to the Gandhara civilisation,” said Kamolwan Sriposil.
With ongoing negotiations between Thailand and Pakistan on free trade agreement, Kamolwan Sriposil informed her guests with confidence that greater opportunities awaited for more collaboration.
Moreover she said, Thai companies operating and investing in Pakistan highlighted the potential of the partnership between the two countries, to drive economic growth, create jobs and improve livelihoods. “Pakistan is a nation of immense treasures and potential from the abundance of natural resources to strength of the young population,” she said while appreciating the hospitality and generosity of Pakistani people across the length and breadth of the country,”.
The Chief guest Rana Sanaullah Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs during his remarks congratulated the Embassy of Thailand on behalf of the peoples and government of Pakistan. During his address, he highlighted the strong ties between Pakistan and Thailand, emphasizing their deep-rooted historical connections, mutual values, and aligned interests.
The event highlighted the strong diplomatic relations between Thailand and Pakistan, showcasing the mutual respect and friendship between the two nations and the broader ASEAN region.
The Thai artists troupe presented the colourful dance and cultural performances on the stage and get great response from the public.
