Sahiwal Coal Power Plant Celebrates Pakistan’s Independence Day with Collaborative Festivities

he 1320 MW Coal Fired Power Plant (CFPP) in Sahiwal witnessed a vibrant celebration of Pakistan’s Independence Day, as employees from both Chinese and Pakistani backgrounds came together in a show of unity and respect. Organized by Huaneng Shandong Ruyi Pakistan Pvt. Limited, the event highlighted the strong collaborative spirit between the two nations.

 

The celebrations commenced with a traditional flag-raising ceremony, reflecting the deep respect and acknowledgment of Pakistan’s sovereignty and history by the Chinese staff. This moment was a significant demonstration of solidarity and mutual respect between the workforce.

 

Mr. Xu, President of the company, delivered a speech congratulating Pakistani employees on their country’s 77th Independence Day. He stressed the value of patriotism as an everyday commitment, emphasizing excellence and integrity in all endeavors.

 

The festivities included a cake-cutting ceremony, adorned with Pakistani flags and symbols, symbolizing joy and unity. This ceremony was a highlight of the day, marking the occasion with a celebratory gesture.

 

The Sahiwal Coal Power Plant plays a crucial role in the local economy, having provided over 3,000 jobs during its construction phase. Currently, the plant employs more than 1,500 local individuals, continuing to support the community’s economic growth. Additionally, the Huaneng Pakistan Vocational and Technical College (HPVTC) associated with the plant offers specialized education and career opportunities, further benefiting the local populace.

 

As a key project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the Sahiwal Coal Power Plant remains a symbol of successful international collaboration and community support.
