In a pivotal move to bloster bilateral ties and foster strategic cooperation, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev convened a high level meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun marking a significant milestone in bolstering bilateral ties between Kazakhstan and China, according to the media reports.
Extending a warm welcome to Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun, who embarked on an official visit to Kazakhstan, President Tokayev lauded his invaluable contributions to fostering amicable relations, friendship, and mutually advantageous cooperation between the two nations.
Kazakh President Tokayev underscored the enduring commitment to an everlasting, comprehensive strategic partnership. He accentuated the convergence of Kazakhstani and Chinese perspectives on pivotal regional and global security issues, affirming the shared commitment to fostering stability and prosperity through multilateral engagement.
President Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s steadfast support for China’s global developmental initiatives, including the global security and civilization initiatives, recognizing their potential to bolster the contemporary global security framework.
The Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun expressed gratitude for the gracious hospitality extended by President Tokayev and lauded the meticulous arrangements made for the forthcoming meeting of defense ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Astana.
During the constructive dialogue, both sides expressed keen interest in advancing peacekeeping efforts, bolstering educational exchanges, and enhancing military-technical cooperation, underscoring the commitment to fostering enduring collaboration across diverse spheres.
