ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN — The blueprint for a power-sharing alliance between the PPP and PML-N has been finalized, marking a pivotal moment in Pakistani politics.

Under this arrangement, Shahbaz Sharif emerges as the nominee for Prime Ministership, while Asif Ali Zardari gears up for the presidential race, solidifying a strategic partnership between the two parties.

Remarkably, the PPP opts out of cabinet participation in Sharif’s administration but secures influential constitutional roles, notably the presidency. Sources indicate a distribution of key positions, with the PPP clinching the Chairman Senate and President slots, alongside gubernatorial appointments in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Further details reveal plans for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker roles in the National Assembly, ensuring representation for both parties in the parliamentary leadership.

With PML-N leading with 79 seats and PPP following closely with 54, the stage is set for the upcoming National Assembly session scheduled by February 29, culminating in the election of the new Prime Minister.

In a joint press conference underscoring the unity between the two parties, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed confidence in their ability to form a robust government, signaling a united front poised to steer the nation forward.
