The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates State of Palestine confirmed that the crime of the “Al-Taba’een School Massacre” was caused by the failure of the international community and its institutions, including the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities to stop the genocide against the Palestinian people, in addition to its continued failure to provide international protection for our people. It also stressed that the illegal Israeli occupation is an occupation that has nothing to do with humanity, and it must be held accountable and punished for its crimes, and the countries and parties complicit in committing all these crimes must be held accountable and punished.
According to the press note, the Foreign Ministry indicated that granting Israel immunity from punishment, not punishing it, and encouraging it makes it continue to commit massacres in the occupied Palestinian territory, the most recent of which is the heinous massacre in the Al-Taba’een School in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in the Gaza Strip, which houses displaced persons and forcibly displaced people, in which more than 100 martyrs and hundreds of injuries were claimed.
The Ministry called on the international community and its institutions to work immediately to stop the aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip as it is the only way to protect civilians, and to activate accountability tools, including the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants against Israeli war criminals to deter and prevent the commission of more crimes. It also calls on the UN Security Council to convene immediately, to implement its decisions, and to compel Israel, the illegal occupying power, to comply with international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
The Ministry directed all its ambassadors abroad to work to expose this crime and call on all countries to take all necessary steps to punish this criminal system, and to condemn this crime and other ongoing crimes in the occupied territory of the State of Palestine, including Jerusalem.
