The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates considers the announcement by Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich to establish a new colony on citizens’ lands near Bethlehem, Al-Walaja, and Husan as part of the framework of an expansionist colonial policy that includes building and legitimizing dozens of random colonial outposts, expanding existing colonies, and constructing a large network of roads, to transform all colonies into settlements. A huge, geographically connected land, consuming the largest area of citizens’ lands in the occupied West Bank.

At a time when the Israeli government is deepening and intensifying colonial construction, the demolition of Palestinian homes and facilities continues under false pretexts and pretexts, such as lack of a permit, especially within areas classified as (B), as is happening continuously in Masafer Yatta, the Jordan Valley, and Jerusalem, and what happened today in the distribution of more demolition notices in Al-Nuwaymah area in Jericho Governorate.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers that the escalation of demolitions or demolition notices represents the ugliest expression of colonial colonialism and the crime of ethnic cleansing, and a public disregard for the decisions of international legitimacy, international law, and the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice.

The Ministry confirms that the international failure to implement the relevant UN resolutions, especially Resolution 2334, encourages the occupation government to persist in annexing the West Bank and deepening settlement, and undermines any opportunity to revive the peace process on the basis of the two-state solution. It also encourages the occupying authority to continue with impunity.
