The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemns the approval of the so-called Israeli “cabinet” to legalize 5 settlement outposts in the West Bank, and advance plans to build thousands of new settlement units throughout the West Bank.

The Ministry views with extreme seriousness the Israeli government’s continued perpetration of the crime of settlement expansion and deepening apartheid, with the aim of closing the door on any opportunity to materialize a Palestinian state, and holds it fully and directly responsible for its consequences and its dangerous repercussions on the conflict arena and the entire region.

The Ministry affirms that the settlement escalation taking place in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is a blatant challenge to the relevant international legitimacy resolutions, especially Resolution 2334, and an official Israeli disdain for the international consensus rejecting colonialism as an obstacle to implementing the two-state solution, and calls for urgent American and international intervention to stop its unlawful unilateral measures.

Legal measures, imposing deterrent international sanctions on the entire system of racist colonial occupation, and exerting real pressure on the Israeli government to stop settlement activity and submit to the international will for peace.
