A 178-member Pakistani delegation, led by Muhammad Riaz (Section Officer) and Muhammad Irfan Khan (Assistant) from Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, visited the shrine of Hazrat Ameer Khusro in Delhi to participate in the 721st Urs of the revered Sufi saint.
As part of the Urs rituals, the delegation presented a chadar (sacred cloth) at the dargah—an expression of devotion deeply rooted in Sufi tradition. The annual Urs honors the legacy of Hazrat Ameer Khusro, a 13th-century poet, scholar, and spiritual icon associated with the Chishti Sufi order and the esteemed Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner in New Delhi, Saad Ahmad Warraich, also attended the event, which attracted a large gathering of devotees. The ceremony highlighted Khusro’s enduring influence on Sufi music, poetry, and Indo-Islamic heritage.
The delegation concluded its visit after completing the spiritual observances in accordance with established protocols.
