Islamabad – July 9, 2025:As per the Railway PRO, a high-level Government of Pakistan delegation led by H.E. Bilal Azhar Kiyani, Minister of State for Finance and Railways and Head of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, is on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The visit is part of the UAE Government’s Experience Exchange Programme (EEP), aiming to support institutional reforms, improve service delivery, and modernize public sector governance in Pakistan.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by H.E. Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange, who reaffirmed the UAE’s support for Pakistan’s development agenda. He praised Pakistan’s potential across multiple sectors and underscored the mutual benefits of strengthened cooperation.
Mr. Kiyani expressed appreciation for the UAE’s initiative and emphasized the significance of learning from UAE’s advanced digital governance, innovation, and public sector delivery. He reiterated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision for reform in areas such as digitization, e-commerce, and economic stability.
During the visit, the delegation held productive sessions with key UAE leaders, including H.E. Maryam Al Hammadi, H.E. Hanan Ahli, Dr. Radhiya Al Hashimi, and Mr. Haitham Al Rais. These discussions focused on government policy, global competitiveness, public sector acceleration, and sustainable strategy.
This visit follows the signing of an MoU on June 16, 2025, between the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and Pakistan’s Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, signaling a deepening partnership in institutional excellence and innovation-driven governance.
