Pakistan–Bangladesh Relations Strengthening Further; New Opportunities in Trade and Tourism — High Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan

Islamabad — Founder Chairman of the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry (PAEI), Khurshid Barlas, met with Bangladesh High Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan at the Bangladeshi Embassy, where both sides discussed bilateral relations, trade, exhibitions, and cooperation across multiple sectors.

Khurshid Barlas highlighted that the “Made in Pakistan Exhibition,” held in Bangladesh from September 23 to 27 this year at the International Convention City, received exceptional appreciation and participation from the Bangladeshi government and public. He said the warm reception made them feel “safe and welcomed just like in Pakistan,” and announced that the second edition of the “Made in Pakistan” exhibition will be launched in 2026.

High Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan praised Khurshid Barlas’s efforts in promoting bilateral cooperation and stated that Pakistan and Bangladesh share relations based on mutual respect and friendship. He noted that cooperation between the two nations is expanding across various fields.

The High Commissioner said that Bangladesh will be able to trade with China, Central Asian states, and other regional countries through Karachi Port, which will enhance regional economic activity. He further added that steps are being taken to start direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Cooperation in medical and religious tourism is also being strengthened.

Both sides agreed to work together in agriculture, transport and communication, education, banking, health, tourism, information and broadcasting, and the textile sector.

At the end of the meeting, Khurshid Barlas presented a shield to High Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan on behalf of the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry.
