The Meteorological Department has issued a warning about dusty winds and potential sandstorms expected to hit Balochistan from December 7 to 9. These weather conditions are predicted to cause a significant drop in temperature in the northern areas of the province, ranging from -3°C to -5°C.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert, urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel during this period due to safety concerns. Coastal areas such as Gwadar, Awaran, Kech, and Panjgur are likely to experience strong winds, while other districts, including Quetta, Pishin, Zhob, and Mastung, may face similar challenges.

The PDMA has also advised local authorities to prepare for potential disruptions caused by these adverse weather conditions, including reduced visibility and possible road hazards due to sand and dust storms. Farmers and livestock owners in the affected regions have been cautioned to take protective measures against the harsh winds and cold temperatures.

Residents of maritime areas are advised to remain vigilant as strong winds may create hazardous conditions at sea. Emergency response teams are on standby to address any unexpected situations arising from the extreme weather.

The PDMA has requested cooperation from the public in adhering to safety guidelines to minimize risks during this weather event.
