In a display of exceptional prowess and teamwork, Iran emerged victorious in the 12th UAE Ambassador Cup 2024, securing a commanding 7-2 win over Ufone. The thrilling final, held at the UAE embassy premises in Islamabad, captivated distinguished dignitaries and passionate spectators alike.
The final match was graced by the esteemed presence of UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem AlZaabi, alongside ambassadors from Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, and Morocco, the event epitomized sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Throughout the tournament, which ran from 13 March to 24 March, a diverse array of audiences, sports lovers, diplomats, and media personnel gathered to witness the action-packed matches. Teams from various nations, including Romania, Jordan, MOFA, Qatar, Afghanistan, Jordan, UAE, Romania, Jerry’s, Indonesia, and Ufone, showcased their skills and determination on the field.
In an electrifying atmosphere, both teams demonstrated remarkable determination and skill on the field. However, it was Iran’s flawless coordination and collective effort that secured them the prestigious trophy, asserting their dominance in the tournament.
The 12th UAE Ambassador Cup 2024 served as a stage for the region’s finest football talents to shine, underscoring the fervor and commitment within the sporting community. In an exhilarating third-place playoff, Qatar emerged triumphant over UAE with a convincing 3-1 victory, further amplifying the tournament’s excitement.
Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Inspector General Islamabad, added prestige to the occasion as the distinguished chief guest, enhancing the event’s significance through his presence. He commended the exemplary performance of both the winning and runner-up team players, expressing optimism that such events would serve as catalysts for inspiring youth engagement in constructive and healthy activities.
At the closing ceremony, the Ambassador of UAE, along with the Chief Guest, awarded certificates, souvenirs, and cash prizes to the organizers and security staff of the embassy. Furthermore, the UAE embassy also held a lucky draw for the audience, and the fortunate winners received mobile phones and other gifts.
The championship finale concluded with a dazzling fireworks spectacle, followed by a captivating horse dancing performance, leaving spectators spellbound and marking the culmination of an extraordinary tournament. Moreover, the handicraft stalls, cultural exhibitions, and delectable food vendors adorned the venue, offering a vibrant array of experiences for the public to enjoy.
