The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan hosted a grand reception in Islamabad to mark the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including government officials, diplomats, and members of the business and academic communities.

Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, extended his gratitude to Muhammad Aurangzeb for honoring the occasion as the Chief Guest.

In his address, Ambassador Moghadam highlighted the significance of the Islamic Revolution as a transformative event that introduced the principles of Independence, Freedom, and the Islamic Republic to global political discourse. He underscored Iran’s remarkable achievements in science, technology, medicine, nanotechnology, stem cell research, and aerospace, despite external challenges and sanctions, says press note.

The Ambassador reaffirmed Iran’s steadfast commitment to strengthening ties with neighboring countries, emphasizing the special bond with Pakistan. He noted that this shared vision, consistently upheld by the Supreme Leader, has been instrumental in fostering strong bilateral relations.

Reflecting on recent diplomatic engagements, Ambassador Moghadam recalled high-level visits, including those of the martyred President Ebrahim Raisi, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, as well as senior Iranian officials such as Araghchi and General Bagheri. These exchanges, he said, reaffirm the depth of mutual cooperation.

Highlighting the economic potential between the two nations, the Ambassador stated that Iran and Pakistan have complementary economies. With Iran’s vast oil and gas reserves and Pakistan’s rich agricultural and livestock resources, both countries are well-positioned to enhance trade and economic integration. Initiatives such as the opening of border crossings, trade markets, and collaboration on transportation networks, including the ITI rail route, have further strengthened economic ties.

On the occasion, Ambassador Moghadam, along with the Chief Guest Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal alongwith others cut the ceremonial cake adorned with the national flags of Iran and Pakistan.

Earlier, the event commenced with students singing the national anthems of Iran and Pakistan.

Ambassador Moghadam reiterated Iran’s commitment to regional stability and sustainable development, stressing the importance of maximizing shared opportunities for economic growth and prosperity. He concluded by expressing heartfelt appreciation to the esteemed guests for their presence and reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Iran and Pakistan.

Long live Iran-Pakistan friendship!
