International Summit at NUTECH Paves Way for Enhanced Higher Education in Pakistan

The National University of Technology (NUTECH) in Islamabad successfully hosted the International Summit on the Future of Higher Education in Pakistan from June 10 to June 12, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance the higher education landscape in the country. The summit, inaugurated by Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, brought together over 180 leaders and faculty from top universities across Pakistan and foreign countries to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and build partnerships aimed at improving the quality of higher education and enhancing student employability.

 

During the summit, the Minister for Science and Technology delivered an insightful address, underscoring the crucial role of science and technology in modern education. Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui praised the initiative, stating, “This summit is a testament to the enduring partnership between Pakistan and foreign world, focused on empowering our educational institutions to produce graduates who are ready to meet the challenges of the future.”

 

The event included dynamic panel discussions, keynote addresses, and collaborative sessions focused on curriculum development, research opportunities, technology integration, and innovative teaching methods.

 

The summit, implemented by the University of Utah, University of Alabama and University of Nevada USA, supports 16 partner universities across Pakistan in improving their institutional capacity to deliver market-driven education and research. Rector NUTECH, Lt. Gen Moazzam Ejaz Hilal e Imtiaz Military (Rtd) expressed his enthusiasm, noting, “Hosting this summit has been an honor for NUTECH. It underscores our commitment to educational advancement and international collaboration. We are dedicated to continuing these efforts to ensure that our graduates are well-equipped to contribute to the global economy.”

 

As the summit drew to a close, attendees voiced a positive outlook on the future of higher education in Pakistan, reaffirming their dedication to collaborate on achieving common objectives of Academic excellence and innovation.
