ISLAMABAD: The process of internal accountability within the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is progressing rapidly, aimed at enhancing transparency, responsibility, and professionalism within the institution. According to sources, on the directives of the Secretary of Interior and Narcotics Control, internal inquiries were initiated against various officers and staff members posted in different regions, based on multiple complaints. After thorough investigations, several personnel were found guilty of misconduct and handed different disciplinary punishments.

Reports indicate that some officers faced strict warnings, demotions, and suspensions for corruption, misuse of authority, and violations of departmental discipline, while a few officials were removed from their positions altogether. Those against whom allegations could not be proven were cleared of all charges. Authorities emphasized that the aim of this accountability process is not to target individuals, but to strengthen the institution and ensure higher standards of service.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the monitoring mechanism is being further reinforced to make the accountability system more effective. This will help identify and address any future cases of corruption, negligence, or misconduct promptly. Officials reiterated that the accountability drive within the FIA will continue on a regular basis, with a strict zero-tolerance policy for any violations.
