South Korea: Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Mr. Yousuf Raza Gillani, addressed the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC 2025) held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. During his address, he officially announced and signed the landmark “Seoul Declaration: Joint Declaration on Peace and Prosperity.”

The declaration was endorsed by parliamentary leaders and founding members from 45 countries, reflecting broad international consensus. Among the signatories was Ms. Paula White-Cain, Senior Advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, underscoring the declaration’s bipartisan and global support.

Representing Pakistan on this esteemed international platform, Chairman Gillani reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering commitment to global peace, inclusive development, and multilateral cooperation. His speech highlighted the urgent need for united efforts to address pressing global issues such as nuclear threats, poverty, climate change, and regional tensions.

The Seoul Declaration sets out a unified vision and commitment to:

  1. Enhancing cooperation among parliamentary institutions and leaders

  2. Promoting global peace initiatives

  3. Upholding the international order and human rights

  4. Advancing shared prosperity and sustainable development

In his keynote address, Chairman Gillani emphasized:

The conference concluded with participating nations reaffirming their commitment to the declaration’s principles and pledging to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation for a more resilient and collaborative global future.
